Fire Code and Plan Review
Anderson Valley Fire Department charges fees in accordance with the current AVCSD Fee Schedule (AVCSD Ordinance 2021-02) for reviewing and inspecting building and construction plans. The California Office State Fire Marshal’s Office (OSFM) delegates this process to local fire districts under California Health and Safety Code 13145 .
Plan Review process:
Step 1 - Provide construction plans to AVFD for CA state fire code compliance review and Development Fee review. Additional review will be required for any changes to the original plans. Plans can be submitted for review in person or online, here.
Step 2 - Fee payment for development fee and/or plan review, per fee schedule (below). You’ll receive an invoice to pay from. Payments can be made here.
Step 3 - AVFD provides a letter stating which fire code requirements must be met and stating that fees have been paid.
Step 4 - Schedule an appointment for a site visit for code compliance. Any necessary follow-up appointments will be subject to cost recovery fees.
Step 5 - Final letter of approval will be provided to the appplicant after successful site inspection.
